FAQs

We get lots of questions, about what we do, so we thought it would be a good idea to share them with you.

It also gives us the opportunity to dispel the myths that you might hear about our capped commission including advertising

Q. Why do we offer capped commission?

We believe the real estate landscape has changed.  Today’s technology since the introduction of the world wide web has changed the way people buy and sell property.   Consequently the role of the agent has also changed.  An agent continues to play a vital role in the sale of your home, but in a completely different way than they did 30 years ago.

At Venus Realty we fully embrace today’s technology and believe in a more modern approach to selling real estate which means a win/win for both our business and you the seller.

Q. Is your service different to that provided by a full price commission agency?

Absolutely not.  We are a full service agency.  We do exactly the same as our major competitors.  We market and advertise your property, attend open for inspections, private appointments, signage, contract negotiations, etc etc.  We are right beside you and work with you from listing to settlement and everything inbetween.

Remember:  It doesn’t matter how our competition package their product, we can assure you that when you open the box we’re exactly the same.  In fact we think we’re better.

Q.Will you undervalue our property in order to achieve a quick sale?

No.  We will provide you with a comprehensive market analysis of comparable sales in your area and explain to you how we arrived at that value.

We will provide an honest appraisal of your home, based on current market conditions.  What we won’t do is overvalue your home, in an attempt to secure your business.

Q. Do your agents have the relevant experience and qualifications?

Yes.  Our agents are fully qualified with many years of experience and on average* earn the same amount as an agent at a competing full commission agency.  Our agents have what it takes to negotiate on your behalf to get the best possible price for your property.

All our staff have many years experience, not just in real estate, but also in a corporate environment and bring their skills and valuable knowledge to our business.

Q. What advertising is included?

  • A 45 day premiere property on realestate.com.au
  • An elite property on domain.com.au
  • www.venusrealty.com.au
  • Our Facebook page

If you want more exposure for your property then we’re happy to discuss what options are available.

Q. What happens when the Premiere Property expires?

Your free advertising includes a 45 day premiere property on realestate.com.au.  At the end of the premiere, your property remains on realestate.com.au but as a feature listing.

If your property hasn’t sold during the premiere period, then you can upgrade back to a premiere property.  There will be a cost to you associated with this. The cost will depend on the suburb you are located in.  Ask your agent for pricing details.

Q. Do you advertise in the newspaper?

No.  Our business model is based on cost effective, proven methods, which has provided excellent results over print media advertising for the past five years.

We believe that people who live in Ipswich and the western suburbs, or are looking to purchase in these areas, embrace today’s technology.   We acknowledge that print media does capture a small percentage of potential buyers, however we believe that the cost far outweighs the benefit, especially when you are asked to pay those hundreds, potentially thousands of dollars out of your own pocket.

To provide you with an example.  The current population of Ipswich is approximately 170,000 residents. The Property Guide produced by the Queensland Times on a Saturday prints  approximately 10,300 copies each week.  This in our view speaks volumes with regards to its value in today’s environment.

Q . Where are you located?

44 East Street (Nolan’s Plaza) Ipswich
